I wanted to write something that drew attention to the double standard we see all too often that leaves victims of sexual assault with blame and marred reputations, while the perpetrators experience no repercussions.

The idea that someone's kind behavior, clothing choices, or mere presence could be considered an invitation for a traumatic event is damaging not only to the victims of such acts, but our society as a whole.
